Emily Brewood , Head Women's Sweep Coach
Emily rowed in high school in Virginia, then moved to Seattle where she rowed at the University of Washington for four years. After graduation, she coached at UW as a graduate assistant. Her next coaching position was at Marietta College in Ohio. Emily took her current position at Station L in 2008.
Peter Edwards , Head Men's Sweep Coach, Program Director
After learning to row at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Peter coached at LC from 1988-1994. He has coached at Station L since 1991, working with scullers, sweep rowers, and national team candidates. As program director, he coordinates club equipment use and directs our Learn to Row class program.
Brad Crawford , Head Sculling Coach
Brad rowed at Nebraska and has coached at several clubs in Portland in the past fifteen years, including PSU, ORU and Station L. He's has coached in our Learn to Row sweep program and is now serves as the Head Sculling Coach.
Scott Urbatsch, Assistant Sweep Coach
Scott learned to row at Station L and he competes regularly, in both sweep and scull. Scott coaches and coordinates our Level 3 sweep program.
Becky Wahlstrom, Assistant Sweep Coach
Becky rowed at the University of Washington and has been a Station L member for over a decade. She assists with our Level 3 sweep rowers.
Kevin Mulvaney , Assistant Sweep Coach
Kevin first learned to row in high school. From 1997-2000 he was the Novice Men's coach at Sacramento State University. He also coached Masters and Juniors rowers out of the CSU-Sacramento boathouse at Lake Natoma. He coaches in our Level 1 and 2 class program and assists in the other programs.
Ralf Genske , Assistant Sweep and Sculling Coach
Ralf learned to row in his native Germany and is an active club member and frequent competitor. He brings 50 years of rowing and coaching experience to his job as one of our Learn to Row coaches.
Spencer Kroll, Assistant Sweep Coach
Spence has been coaching in our L1/L2 sweep program in and around his time in graduate school. He rowed in college and still competes when he's not showing new class members how much fun rowing can be.
Leslie Walker, Assistant Sweep Coach
Leslie rowed at the University of Portland and is back rowing again after a stint in Teach for America. Leslie coaches in our Level 1 and 2 sweep program.
Sam Taylor, Guest Coach
Sam is the head coach at Lewis and Clark College. In the summer, he often substitutes for coaches on vacation or takes on a program for the season. This summer he's coaching our Level 4 scullers.
Ben Rice, Guest Coach
Ben is on the coaching staff at Rose City Rowing Club. This summer, he's coaching a class of Level 2 sweep for Station L
