  • Cascadia Regatta August 14-15

On August 14-15, Catherine led a group of Station L scullers up to Canada for the first Cascadia masters regatta.   The 12 members entered a ton of events [26] and produced a bunch of great performances.  Most of the events required heats to advance to a 5 boat final.

Station L members Kevin Erickson and Brad Carr travelled all the way to Canada to race each other in the adaptive 1x.  While this might seem silly, since they can race each other each week in practice, it still proved to be their best work thus far over a 1000 meter course. They raced on Saturday and on Sunday.  Each of them beat their Saturday time by 7-10 seconds in the Sunday race.  It also proved that aside from National Team member Ron Harvey, who they raced at regionals, there's really nobody else in the west moving an adaptive single as fast as these two guys right now.
